Million-fold increase in Euromillions
Connoisseurs of Euromillions are accustomed to million-sums. On 8 October 2004, however, a millionfold inrease of a special kind occurred. In the establishment of the multi-state lottery in February 2004, comparatively few countries and lotteries were involved. This meant good news for both old and new gamblers. Because: more participating countries also mean a larger number of players, higher sales and, above all, greater profits and jackpots. No wonder that a lucky fellow could already win a record jackpot at Euromillions within the next month.
Viva España
In October 2004, five draws took place in the multi-national lottery Euromillions. Twice - on 1 and 22 October - a lucky fellow could win the jackpot. The jackpot went to Spain, so the October 2004 became the month of the Spanish jackpot crackers. In the draw of October 1st, the numbers 12, 20, 21, 45 and 48, as well as Lucky Stars 5 and Lucky Stars 6 were shown.
Since in the seven Euromillions draws before, nobody had all the correct winning numbers and lucky stars on his lottery ticket the first prize was 29,785,269 euros. It was not only the biggest win that a Spaniard has been able to win in the Euromillions, but also the second highest Euromillions win at the time.
