Euromillions happenings 2006
Two XXL-Jackpots of over 183 Millionen Euro
2006 was a really good year for Euromillions gamblers. For this year, there were two record-breaking jackpots of around 183 million euros each, which nearly two dozen players derived profit from. The first jackpot was hit by a Portuguese and two French on 3 February 2006. At that time, the numbers were 9, 21, 30, 39, 50 as well as Lucky 1 and Lucky 3. Because the first rank had not been occupied for 11 draws the jackpot reached the record amount of 183,573,078 euros at that time. This meant a profit of over 61 million euros for each of the three lucky fellows.
In order to make the Euromillions even more attractive, the people in charge decided to distribute the jackpot to the next occupied rank whenever it could not be cracked for twelve draws in a row. This happened the first time on November 17th, 2006. With a grand total of 183.109.056 million euros, the jackpot reached almost the record level of February. However, this time again no one had the correct 5 and 2 stars. The jackpot was distributed to the gamblers who had hit 5 and 1 Star in the draw, so 20 people received almost 9.7 million euro each.
