Euromillions events in 2013

The year of German-speaking winners

In 2013, winners from German-speaking countries were able to get on the gravy train at Euromillions. On 27 August 2013, a player from the Swiss canton of Valais cracked the jackpot and secured – with the winning numbers 1, 6, 26, 30 and 37 as well as Lucky Star 5 and Lucky Star 8 – nearly 94 million euros or nearly 116 million Swiss francs.
The Swiss revenue office can also be glad about the lottery ticket purchased at a Valais kiosk. For the profit, some 27 million Swiss francs in taxes become due - plus the capital tax over the next few years.

In the Euromillions draw number 628 of 27 September 2013, a player from Luxembourg also secured the jackpot of 65,793,284 euros. The lucky fellow was hence paid out the largest win ever made in Luxembourg, but preferred to remain anonymous. It is only known that the man had regularly gambled with the same numbers at Euro millions. His numbers were 11, 15, 38, 41, and 43, and lucky 2, and lucky 6.
