Euromillions in Austria

The Austrian Lottogesellschaft uses the German term Euromillionen instead of the internationally common term Euromillions in its own spelling: EuroMillionen. In Austria as in all other participating countries, the bet per row is € 2.00 per game series.

The lottery’s introduction and jackpots up to now

Austria has been participating in the Euromillions since the enlargement in October 2004. A three-digit amount in the jackpot could not yet be achieved by players from the Alpine Republic.

The highest amount paid out so far in Austria tots up to EUR 55,609,411 and was obtained on May 16th 2008 by a player from Carinthia. Two other Austrians won more than 50 million euros in 2009 and 2014.

Shared lottery tickets and team bets

In Austria you have the possibility to form an officially registered Euromillions solidarity ( "Team Tip") consisting of two to ten people. Each team member receives a separate receipt and can request his or her share of the winnings independently of the other players.

When a shared ticket is purchased, the participant is involved in an Euromillions system bet. The Austrian lottery association offers the proportional participation in three options. In addition to the community lottery, every euromillions game played in Austria has the option to participate in the national lottery Joker.

Winnings not taxable

In Austria as well as in Germany gambling winnings are not taxable and are paid out to the player without deductions.
